At this year's Summer Festival in England, Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso will give teachings "Universal Compassion." In this out of town retreat, Kelsang Jampa, will guide us in many sessions of contemplation and meditation on these teachings. It will be a wonderful opportunity to improve our good qualities of love and compassion.
The supreme good heart is bodhichitta, which literally means "mind of enlightenment". Bodhichitta is born from great compassion which itself depends upon cherishing love. Cherishing love can be compared to the field, compassion to the seeds and taking and giving to the supreme method for making the seeds grow, and bodhichitta to the harvest. During this retreat, we will concentrate on the series of great scope meditations that culminate in the compassionate mind of bodhichitta. Through developing such a precious mind, we become a son or daughter of the Buddhas and all of our daily activities become causes of enlightenment.
